For those of you who wonder why I don't use Twitter: this video (from the folks at "Supernews", an animated sketch comedy series on Current TV, which I've never heard of) explains it pretty well.
O NOES IT'S THE FAIL WHALE
I don't feel the need to let people know what I'm doing every five minutes, thanks.
That's what Livejournal is for. (wah-wah-wahhhhhhhhhh descending horn sound)
Also, I was reminded yesterday of how cool my mom is.
I got a phone call yesterday from my parents at about 10 AM. My mom chatted with me for a bit, and then asked, "Did the Easter Bunny bring you anything?" I laughed. Since I was by myself with Leslie out of town and I hadn't left the house since Friday night, it was pretty unlikely that the "Easter Bunny" had brought me anything. "No," I smirked. "No Easter Bunny delivery."
There was a pause. "Are you sure?"
"Yes, I'm sure." (What is she getting at here?)
"Are you REALLY sure?"
"Yes, Mom, I'm sure!" (starting to get annoyed now)
"Where are you?"
"I'm in my apartment, upstairs in my bedroom, why?"
"Go look in your closet."
"Um........okay."
"Now look behind the pillows on your top shelf."
I do, and behind the pillows on my top shelf: a pair of chocolate Easter Bunnies, hiding. One for me, one for Leslie.
"I can't believe you did this," I smirked.
She had sneaked into my closet while they visited with me and Leslie back on March 9th, when they passed through Austin on their way out to the Southwest to meet us for the RV trip, and had hidden the bunnies then so I could discover them on Easter Sunday morning. I could HEAR her smiling through the phone as she laughed with delight at my stunned disbelief.
My mom is SNEAKY. Just one of the reasons I love her.

Date: 2009-04-13 03:50 pm (UTC)As for my favorite mythological creature ... tough one. My answer today would be the minotaur, but it could change in a day or even an hour.

Date: 2009-04-13 05:16 pm (UTC)I tweet about once a day on average, and get a little frustrated with nonstop irrelevancies - fortunately I don't get much of that with the people I follow, but my friends list is almost always four pages of NFG, PVP, and Wil.
And - naturally - the dragon. :D
