"So say we all!" "SO SAY WE ALL!"

So I gave [livejournal.com profile] datalopez the first season of Battlestar Galactica for Christmas. I wanted to give her something we could discover together.

We watched the miniseries last night. I can TOTALLY see why people love this show. Fantastic story and characters, excellent dialogue, great special effects, good music, and plot twists a-plenty. I'm looking forward to catching up on this one.

TOLD YOU SO. Let me very strongly recommend to you that you don't research anything about the show until you're done watching the seasons, though, because the majority of the big revelations have been made and it's really easy to stumble across spoilers and wreck some of the total wtf moments. I inadvertently got a major spoiler because I was looking for some clarification on a particular character.

You should also watch any of the between-season stuff like Razor and the webisodes - they aren't crucial, but they make for a more complete understanding of some things.

Hardwood looks pretty, but carpet's a hell of a lot easier/cheaper to take care of - and replace if it gets mucked up.

I do plan to avoid all research on the show till we're done watching it. Easier said than done, perhaps, but we'll see. Also intend to watch the between-season stuff as well when I can find it.

cheers,
Phil

Ahh... back when the show was still good. The miniseries and first season were great stuff, as well as the first couple episodes of season 2. Then the whole reunion on Kobol thing happens and it just slides into predictable bullsh*t. Meh. But yeah, it starts beautifully.

Now, now, don't rain on my parade by telling me it starts to suck later. :)

cheers,

I LOVE this show, and I'll agree, that everything after Season 2 becomes a little...tedious...but on the bright side, by the time you finish watching the first 3 seasons and such, the show will have ended!

And you don't have to, but I recommend watching Razor during the timeframe it's supposed to take place, between the proper episodes...

I plan on watching the stuff when it was INTENDED to be watched. If something takes place between episodes, then I'll watch it then. :)

Thanks for the recommendation all the same!

cheers,
Phil
