It's been one of those weeks.

One of my coworkers, thirty seconds ago:

"Is it five o'clock yet?"

Me and another coworker, instantly and in unison: "It's five o'clock somewhere."

(The odd thing is that this other coworker generally can't stand anything related to Jimmy Buffett. I don't know what got into him.)

Oracle: Just Dragoncon, so far.

Perhaps some hiking day trips here. :-)

Dragoncon counts as a hiking day trip all by itself. Heh.

cheers,
Phil

I would have said that unknowing that it had anything to do with Jimmy Buffett. Because it's one of my favorite sayings when I want to have a beer at an odd hour. "It's not noon yet and you're already having a beer?" "... it's noon somewhere. *GLUG*"

And my summer plans are that I am working and going to school.

I agree, have never been a Buffett fan, didn't even know Buffett coined that, and I use it.

Technically it's not a Buffett tune, it's an Alan Jackson/Jimmy Buffett tune. Neither one of them wrote it, actually; they just gave it a voice. :)

cheers,
Phil

Oracle: I am hoping to make it to either London or Amsterdam to visit some folks this summer. Well it will be late summer before I can put the plan into action, and I will be at the whim of cheap airfares to those locations, but hopefully I will make it happen.

[identity profile] dslartoo.livejournal.com 2006-05-25 05:27 pm (UTC)(link)
London, sweet. I want to see pictures from that trip. :)

cheers,
Phil

I will definitely post some pictures. Of course it might be the first photolog of someones first trip to Europe that looks like it takes place entirely inside a pub.

Oracle:
In-laws, this weekend
Parents (and baseball!) next weekend
Stitching parties (the weekend after, August)
Trip to In-Laws
Trip to DC to see Kimpy and Chris

... wow,that's it.

[identity profile] dslartoo.livejournal.com 2006-05-25 05:26 pm (UTC)(link)
Sounds like a good summer to me. :)

cheers,
Phil

That's like just between now and end of July. August is this gaping black hole. Except when I throw a girls-only party when J is out of town. Heheh.

[identity profile] shes-precious.livejournal.com 2006-05-25 06:12 pm (UTC)(link)
Yep and it involves lots of painting, nuditity, and geeking. And not in that order.

[identity profile] marared.livejournal.com 2006-05-25 07:52 pm (UTC)(link)
Boston for a weekend in July, Los Angeles for a week in August, probably down to my parents for a weekend end of September (I was going to go in June but for some reason every single cheap Southwest flight to from here to Norfolk has been packed since April).

And a quick hop to DC to see Sarah and Chris, as previously mentioned, but that's not exactly a "vacation" per se, at least not for someone who lives 45 miles away. *g*

Dear Oracle:

Greece for June, Atlanta before the summer ends, and maybe throw in Wisconsin and Canada.

Other than that, lots of loafing and reading will be my summer vacation. But don't worry, I still get paid during all this time off. :)
